I originally came to see the sunflowers but stayed to shop the retail store across the road. Firstly, the sunflowers did not disappoint. Acres of glorious yellow smiles greeted visitors. There were plenty of places set up for photos. Families were eager to take family photos using the fun props staged among the best blossoms. There was live music and food trucks. A schedule of which trucks are planned each day is on the Green Barn website. The porta potties were clean. Admission was $7, good for the entire day. Although the fields are a pollinator haven, I wouldnβt be concerned about stings unless youβre allergic to bee stings. Mostly, bumblebees and honeybees ignore people. The spent flowers are harvested and processed as black oiled sunflower seeds for the birds. The retail store was fantastic. In addition to seeds, plants, bushes and trees, there was fresh produce, and a wide variety of canned vegetables, jellies and jams. There was plenty of tools and gadgets for the gardening enthusiast (that would be me!). I picked up a great kneeling pad. And of course, oodles of decor for the yard, garden and home. This place is huge with plant selections! When every other nursery in Isanti and Chisago counties run out of stock I've been able to get it from Green Barn, whether it's potatoe or garlic sets, roma tomatoes, or bean inoculant. Their retail store is such a pleasure to browse through; I like to buy unique but functional gifts for Christmas and have never been disappointed shopping here.

The plants are top notch at a reasonable price and are well maintained even in June. I got a 12 pack of 4.5 inch at 40% off without sacrificing quality. They have a nice selection of berry and perennial bushes. Best place to get hard to find items like elderberry, haskap, and jostaberry. Nice selection of apple trees and native flowers as well. Everyone is knowledgeable and attentive. I return at least once s year despite it being an hour away.

First time here today, what an incredible greenhouse and garden center. Best one around. Well worth the quick drive from Blaine. I've never seen a more orderly greenhouse with an enormous and varied selection. It is clear that the plants are well cared for, not a brown leaf in sight! Prices are excellent too. This will be my primary greenhouse from now on.
